Through the Whole Student approach, I strive to truly know and support each student with a learning action plan that is tailored for them.  Whole Student support transcends traditional subject specific tutoring.  Working on individual academic subjects is only one part of assessing a student and implementing a learning action plan.  I focus on core skills that are relevant and necessary across the disciplines. Read some sample programs.

The Profile: After gathering pertinent information from parents, teachers, and the student themselves, I create an educational profile and learning action plan tailored to the student’s individual needs and goals. Not only does the profile provide a basis and framework from which each session is designed, but also a series of measurable, short and long term goals.  A complete profile will take at least four sessions to create.

Regular Sessions:  Achieving academic and personal goals requires time, consistency, and hard work.  Regular one-on-one sessions are the cornerstone of the Whole Student approach.  Regular sessions can be scheduled for the duration of academic semesters, the entire academic school year, as well as the summer.

Wrap-around Communication: Regular reports are generated and shared with the members of the student’s academic and personal team in order to better support the student in a unified way in all areas of their academic life.

Re-Evaluation: As a student’s needs and goals change, their learning profile and learning action plan will be re-evaluated and revised to meet those needs.

In this context, organizational systems are overhauled and redesigned, challenging academic tasks are tackled, and essential decompression and inspiration takes place.
